Ive used other dictionary apps before like Miriam Webster, but it wasnt as clear or concise as this one.
its an awesome dictionary. Fast and convenient.
Then you pay a premium price for audio in the US, I expect pronunciations inAmerican, NOT British English. It seems like there is no way to switch, as implied in the promo elsewhere. Why?...
At first it was okay, but then the app started playing pop up ads with audio every time I went to look up a word. Thats far too invasive, especially when Im trying to quickly look up a word while working. Ive since removed the app from my phone.
Dont update this app. Since I updated, it plays a 5 second ad every time I look up a word. Its absolutely ridiculous.
I downloaded this app because the other one the Merriam-Websters had too many ads. Unfortunately this one has to many ads also. You have to pay to have the app pronounce the word. And $19.99 to upgrade, you got to be kidding, it is a rip off. There should be a $.99 ad free version. Dont download it is not worth the price.
Tnx.. It all my property to say tnx...
I got this dictionary app it was free, then I found out I would have to pay $20. If I wanted to hear how to pronounce the words, so I paid the price. Now I find there is no way to turn on the sound, and there are no directions either. I do get the definitions but thats it Thats why I only gave you two stars, I feel ripped off!
This dictionary app is as true to the paper version as I could expect. The pronunciations are the British version as you would expect so if youre looking for a US pronunciation guide you might want to look elsewhere. Overall, five stars for a thorough and well-built app.
I purchased this app for my son. Normally I purchase apps with my Apple ID, and then he can use them on his iPad, since our Apple IDs are linked. When I tried restoring the purchase on his iPad, it did not work, and now Im stuck with a dictionary that I dont need and will never use, and if I want him to have access, I will have to us-do all my parental restrictions, purchase the app as him, and then restore all of the restrictions. Oh...and dont forget paying another $20. I opened a support ticket asking for advice on how to transfer the premium purchase, or at least receive a refund, but I have heard nothing back. The dictionary is okay, but the customer service is poor, and their licensing model is not family-friendly.
Spacing between each defined line would increase readability; the numbered meanings are jumbled together. Also I synonyms and antonyms are missing. For the free and premium versions, they should be included.
I paid for upgrade which was supposed to allow for offline usage!! Well it will not allow for that option to work. I want my money back!! No different than any of the other dictionaries that are freaking free!
